Our correspondence management

Managing correspondence banner

The Commission regularly receives correspondence from the community relating to State significant development applications or advice under consideration by the Commission.

General enquiries or complaints

We aim to respond to general enquiries or complaints within 10 business days. If additional time is required to consider an enquiry or complaint, the Commission will advise when a response can be expected.

For information about how the Commission deals with complaints, please read our Complaints management policy.

Submissions

The Commission will send an automated message of acknowledgement of submissions that are lodged online, and an email acknowledgement of submissions received via email at [email protected].

Any letters or emails which deal with the merits of a matter before the Commission for determination or advice may be regarded as a submission and published on the website. The Commission will not enter into correspondence on the issues raised in such submissions. Issues raised in submissions are considered by the Commission and, where relevant, may be referenced in the Commission's Statement of Reasons or advice report.

Speaker registrations

The Commission will send an automated message of acknowledgement of registrations of interest to speak at a public meeting or hearing made on the website.

Please be aware that registrations of interest to speak at a public meeting are not automatically accepted. Your registration of interest will be processed and separately confirmed by the Commission.

The Commission will publish a schedule of registered speakers on the website approximately 24 hours prior to each hearing or meeting and email a link to this speaking schedule to all registered speakers.

If you do not receive a confirmation in writing, please call or email us to ensure your registration was received.

Transparency and privacy

When you write to the Commission or provide a public submission, please be aware that:

  • once the Commission receives your correspondence, including emails, it becomes a formal record
  • all documents provided to the Commission are public documents and may be made publicly available on the Commission's website
  • correspondence may be used for statistical reporting purposes.
