Change of format for Muswellbrook Solar Farm public meeting

Change of format for Muswellbrook Solar Farm public meeting

Posted: 04.02.2025

The Independent Planning Commission Panel is currently considering a State significant development application for the proposed Muswellbrook Solar Farm (SSD-46543209), a 135-megawatt solar farm east of Muswellbrook.

The Commission had scheduled a public meeting for next Wednesday 12 February 2025 for members of the community to have their say on the application. The Commission received registrations for the public meeting from five speakers to present in person and seven speakers to present over the telephone.

Due to the low number of in-person speakers, the meeting will now be held online that day, rather than on-site in Muswellbrook. The public meeting will commence at 10am and speakers will be able to present to the Panel via telephone or video conference.

Please note the following:
• The Commission is communicating these arrangements directly with the registered speakers
• The community can still follow the meeting live on the Commission’s website or YouTube channel
• The Commission Panel met with Muswellbrook Shire Council in January, a transcript of which can be found here
• The Commission Panel will conduct a site visit ahead of the public meeting to assess the physical attributes of the site and its surroundings
• The Commission is still accepting written submissions on the proposal up until 5:00pm on Wednesday 19 February. Anyone wanting to make a submission can do so via our online portal.
