On 2 June 2024, the Minister for Planning and Public Spaces wrote to the Chair of the Independent Planning Commission regarding recent updates to the NSW Government’s climate change policy framework. A copy of the letter to the Commission Chair can be found here. The Minister’s letter also enclosed correspondence to him from the Hon. Penny Sharpe MLC, Minister for Climate Change, Minister for Energy, Minister for the Environment and Minister for Heritage. A copy of that enclosed letter can be found here.
To the extent relevant, how a Panel of the Commission takes into account the matters raised in these letters will be set out in Statements of Reasons published in relation to specific determinations.
